Quotes

Qualification for the Champions League would be a big success but you have to win it," said Man City manager Pep Guardiola.

"I want to qualify for the Champions League. It will not be good [if City miss out] but I saw what happened with other teams in the past in the Premier League.

"Not being in the Champions League would be a problem but there are teams who didn't qualify who have come back and are there.”

Head-to-Head

In head-to-head stats, Man City and Brighton have met in 33 matches across all competitions since 1924. The Citizens have claimed 21 wins compared to seven for the Seagulls, while five games have been drawn.

The teams’ most recent meeting was a Premier League clash in November 2024 which saw Brighton claim a 2-1 home win, with goals from Joao Pedro and Matthew O’Riley. Erling Haaland scored the opener for City.
