As one of the key fixtures in
Serie A football this coming weekend, AC Milan will open the San Siro doors to Atalanta on Sunday, 10 April.
Sitting in ninth position on the log, Milan go into their next league game on the back of a 4-0 win against Udinese at the Bluenergy Stadium last Friday.
Prior to their game against Udinese, Milan went on a three match winless streak in which they recorded one loss and two consecutive draws.
Reflecting on their recent win, Milan mentor Sergio Conceicao expressed that his side will immediately turn their attention to Atalanta.
"Today we were a team, but it's only three points," said Conceição after the match.
"Now we immediately think about Atalanta. In any case I saw a solid and a balanced team, as well as physically available. There was time to work on it, it was important to have 2-3 weeks to work."
Atalanta on the other hand, returned to winning ways in the league this past weekend following a 2-0 victory against Bologna.
After putting an end to their three-match losing streak, coach Gian Piero Gasperini remains hopeful of qualifying for the UEFA Champions league.
“Putting Bologna four points behind with six days to go says it all about the importance of today’s win. More or less at 70 points, Champions League qualification is almost certain: with a great result against AC Milan, it would be easier,” Gasperini said.
