If you’re a football fan, you probably can’t wait until the
new soccer season starts as we await our favourite stars to take to the pitch and do it all over again. We have so many questions and so few answers; can City complete a three-peat by securing their third Premier League title in as many years or will there be a new sheriff in town? Who are the be money signings coming in? Who’s going out?

All we can do now is speculate until the new season is underway. For now let us look at some of the things we can expect.
Head-to-head
In the unlikely event that two or more teams finish in one position on the log with the same number of points, goal difference and goals scored, these teams will be separated by means of a head-to-head. In previous seasons, teams would be pitted against each other in a playoff match played at a neutral stadium, however this extra match is unlikely.

Whichever team has collected the most points in the head-to-head between the clubs lying level, will take the top spot.
Maiden fixtures
Sheffield United will take on AFC Bournemouth for the first time in history, this fixture being one of the eight maiden fixtures to take place.
However, David Brooks will be excited to face his former club, Sheffield United, after signing for The Cherries last season. He’s had a fine first season with Bournemouth but will look to continue to improve in his second season in the EPL.
Mid-season player break
The EPL has always been infamous for its relentless and jam-packed fixture list which saw this league as the only one which doesn’t have a winter break. Well, this season things are set to change – for the worst if you are a fan.
Following an agreement by the FA and the Premier League, the 19/20 season will feature a mid-season player break which will last for two weeks.
New penalty rules
Goalkeepers will need to stand behind the line before a penalty is taken and the referee will not blow for the penalty to be taken if the keeper is touching the crossbar, goalposts or net.
If a player is fouled, wins the penalty and gets hurt in the process, they will have the chance to get treatment and come back on the pitch to take the penalty.
