Stormers will face Chiefs in the 2017 Super Rugby quarter-final match at the DHL Newlands on Saturday. The Stormers defeated Blues 41-33 away in their previous Super Rugby game which was played in Pretoria last weekend. This was the South Africa side's third consecutive defeat in this competition. They beat Sunwloves in their last home game two weeks ago. The Stormers booked their place in the knockout stages of the 2017 Super Rugby after finishing third on the overall standings. Meanwhile, Chiefs secured a 28-10 victory over Brumbies at home in their previous Super Rugby match which was played Hamilton last weekend. The win extended the New Zealand side's winning run to three games in the Super Rugby. They defeated Hurricanes in their last away game in June, 2017. The Chiefs progressed into this year's Super Rugby quarter-finals after finishing sixth on the overall standings. Stormers and Chiefs have met five times in the Super Rugby in the last four years. The latter have won three games compared to Stormers' two victories.
