South Africa will be looking for an improved batting display when they take on England in the
third Test at the Oval in Kennington, London, starting on Thursday, September 8.
The Proteas failed miserably with the bat in the second Test at Old Trafford, posting just 151 runs in the first innings before being bowled out for 179 in the second innings.
England declared on 415 for 9 in their first innings, with Ben Stokes (103) and Ben Foakes (113) both scoring centuries to set up victory by an innings and 85 runs inside three days.

The three-match series is tied at 1-1 after SA won the first Test by an innings and 12 runs, which saw Sarel Erwee top score with 73 runs - the only batter to make a half-century.

Not a single batter managed the milestone for the tourists in the second Test and skipper Dean Elgar suggested that changes will be made to stabilise the middle order, with Rassie van der Dussen already ruled out with a broken finger, while Aiden Markram's place in the team is also under threat.

"A few tough decisions will be coming our way," Elgar said. "With Rassie ruled out, we have to replace him. That's a definite. Whether that's the only one we will make ... we've got a few days. We'll go away and get our options and try and get better combinations.
"The bottom line is we need runs from that middle order and that is letting us down quite a bit, to be frank and bold and honest. That's the truth. As much as guys don't want to hear it, they know that already.
"But for now, Rassie's position has to be filled. Whether that's the only spot, we are not sure just yet."
