2020 Major League Baseball
162nd Regular Season
United States of America (USA) & Canada
18-24 September
Boston Red Sox and New York Yankees are set to headline
Major League Baseball (MLB) action between 18 and 24 September.
The two teams have competed in MLB's American League (AL) for over 100 seasons and have since developed one of the fiercest rivalries in American sports.
The Red Sox will be keen to improve their form in the American League East where they have recorded the least number of wins (17) when they host the Yankees at Fenway Park on September 20.

The Yankees have been inconsistent lately having recorded 26 wins and they have slipped down to the third spot on the American League East standings.
Ron Roenicke, the Red Sox manager, has revealed that he held a meeting with his pitchers before last month's defeat to Yankees as they seek revenge.
“I just gathered them together and trying to ease some of the, I don’t know if you call it stress, or what you call it, but just tried to ease their minds a little bit and try to free them up and to not press,” Roenicke said.

“Just being themselves and making pitches. It’s no different here than in the minor leagues. Our taxi squad, when you make quality pitches, you get people out.
"So it’s just trying to repeat those pitches and anyway, it’s just tough when you send Nate (Eovaldi) out there and he gets hit and just, it’s hard.”

Meanwhile, Oakland Athletics are scheduled to lock horns with National League West side San Francisco Giants on September 19.
The Athletics are the most dominant team in the American League West having recorded the most victories (29) wins compared to Giants' 23 in their league.
The matches between the two teams are called the Bay Bridge Series and although competitive, the regional rivalry between the Athletics and Giants is considered a friendly one with mostly mutual companionship between the fans.
Lastly, San Diego Padres will square off with American League West strugglers Los Angeles Angels on September 23.
The Angels, who won the World Series in 2002, find themselves second from the bottom on their league standings having accumulated just 19 victories thus far.
