PGA Tour this year, Canadian star Taylor Pendrith will no doubt be considered among the favourites to land the keenly anticipated 2024 Shriners Children’s Open trophy
What to know about
Pendrith, who is ranked 46
th in the world, finished in 3
rd position at the 2023 Shriners Children’s Open after posting a score of 18-under.
The Canadian is one of the most in form players on the PGA tour currently, most notably after 5
th place finishes at both the Barracuda Championship and 3M open respectively.
Nevertheless, as his most notable win to date, Pendrith bagged the CJ Cup Byron Nelson in May this year, which happened to be the first PGA tour victory of his career.
Also, Pendrith competed in 23 showpieces this year, recording one win and five top-10 finishes along the way.
As it stands, ‘Pendy’ as he is affectionately known, will no doubt pose a serious threat at the 2024 Shriners Children’s Open.
What did he say
After securing his first PGA tour title, Pendrith expressed his delight at being associated among some of the best players to have won the CJ Cup Byron Nelson trophy.
“I've held the 54-hole lead before and haven't got it done,” Pendrith said earlier this year.
“Learned a lot from that and tried to be a little better today and stay in my own lane and just put my head down and go to work. To come out on top feels unreal.
“You know, it feels unbelievable, and to see some of those names on this trophy, it's crazy. I still can't believe that I'm a winner of this tournament.”
