The 2024
Sao Paulo Grand Prix is scheduled to take place in the most populous city in Brazil, Sao Paulo on 3 November.
What to know about the Sao Paulo Grand Prix
The inaugural race held in 1972, was held as a non-championship event, with all races from the 1973 Brazilian Grand Prix onwards held as a championship event.
With the 2020 event having been cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Formula One would return in the 2021 season, with the event now being titled the Sao Paulo Grand Prix.
Most recent race
The Mexican Grand Prix which was the 20th round of the 2024 Formula One World Championship was won by Carlos Sainz Jr of Ferrari on 27 October.
Lando Norris of McLaren finished second, while Charles Leclerc of Ferrari secured a third-place finish at the Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez in Mexico City.
Standings
Red Bull Racing's Max Verstappen is still placed at the top of the World Drivers' Championship standings as he looks to defend his Formula One title.
Norris and Leclerc are placed second and third respectively in the standings as they look to catch and leapfrog Verstappen with four races left.
Favourites
All eyes will be on Verstappen, Leclerc, Norris and Sainz Jr once again as they battle to be crowned the 2024 Sao Paulo Grand Prix champion.
However, three-time Sao Paulo Grand Prix champion Lewis Hamilton of Mercedes cannot be ruled out of winning the race for the fourth time this weekend.
Quotes
"This hasn’t been the smoothest weekend for the team," Hamilton said after finishing fourth at the 2024 Mexican Grand Prix which sees him placed sixth on the Drivers' standings.
"But we’ve gathered a lot of information across both specifications. We can now analyse that data and evaluate the best way forward for next weekend in Brazil and the rest of the season.
"Hopefully we can get the car in a slightly better spot for Interlagos and take the fight to the Ferraris and McLarens."
