Todd Gurley

Todd Gurley, in an interview, aptly branded former Tennessee Titans coach Jeffery Fisher’s style of attack as a “middle school offense”. Finally freed from these shackles, 2017 saw the Running Back return to his brutal best again. In his first year under Sean McVay, he was impossible to take down. Gurley’s dominant performances took pressure off Jared Goff, this allowed the No. 1 overall pick to ease into his sophomore campaign with much of the pressure taken off him.

The speeding bull led the NFL in rushing touchdowns (13) and came second in rushing yards (1,327), averaging 4.7 yards per snap. If last season was anything to go by, these performances will be a norm going into the 2018 NFL season.

Le’Veon Bell

Another impressive display from the Pittsburgh Steelers’ Running Back in the 2017 NFL season. He finished third in rushing yards (1,291) and 10th in receptions (88), we are accustomed to nothing less from him. These numbers are even more notable considering he did not sign his tag until Labour Day.

The hugely talented back has a powerful but patient running style which is hard not to admire. Much like a Swiss Army knife, the Steelers use his multi-purpose abilities as a secret weapon.

Antonio Brown

Antonio Brown is an absolute star and if he continues in this same vein, he’ll be well on his way to making it on the Hall of Fame. His playmaking ability, coupled with his separation skills makes him an extra-ordinary wide receiver. In the past five seasons he has averaged: 116 catches for every 1,570 yards and 10 touchdowns. He has been named first-team All Pro-Pro in the past four seasons making his claim of MVP a legitimate one – yes at wide receiver.

Von Miller

Miller is a freak of nature. At 1.91 m, 113kg, he’s agile and deceptively quick. An absolute nightmare for any quarter back or offensive linemen for that fact. The seven time Pro Bowl linebacker is an absolute force not to be taken lightly. Among the accolades he has earned in seven pro seasons is Rookie of the year and Super Bowl MVP. Although 2017 was not his best, in theory, as he sacked the quarter back only 10 times but still led the league with 83 pressures. 2018 should prove to be a better season, now that he has a pass-rushing playmate in Bradley Chubb

Julio Jones

Watching Julio Jones play sometimes feels like watching a lab test gone astonishingly right. He is the perfect blend of athleticism, size, brute strength and glue like hands. If there was ever a blueprint for a receiver, he is it. Yes, the 2017 season was lackluster in terms of his underwhelming three touchdowns however he still managed to eclipse the 1,400 rushing yards mark.

The Falcons will look to improve on their impotent offense in the 2018 season and Julio Jones will certainly be a key figure going forward.

Drew Brees

What more can be said about the future Hall of Famer, Drew Brees. Often described as an energiser battery, he just goes on and on and on. His passing yardage dropped to its lowest mark in the 2017 season however he still managed to set a single-season record of 72 percent completed passes. This 40 year old is set to have another remarkable season in the company of Mark Ingram, Alvin Kamara and Sean Payton.

Carson Wentz

A hard collision saw Carson Wentz suffer a devastating injury which saw him tear his knee in week 14. He carried the Eagles throughout the regular season making everyone around him better. Even though Philly barely snuck past the Falcons in their opening payoff game, they eventually were crowned Super Bowl Champs and the quarter back will look to play a crucial role in defending their title in the 2018 season.

Aaron Donald

I’ll keep this short and to the point:

Aaron Donald is the best, most unrelenting and unsurpassable defensive tackle in the NFL. Expect plenty of sacks on any given Sunday this season from the 27 year old hailing from Pittsburgh.

Tom Brady

One man’s pain is another success. After Carson Wentz’s knee injury, Tom Brady rallied on to have another spectacular 2017 season putting the G.O.A.T debate to rest. His 32 touchdowns and record setting 4,557 yardage was not shabby at all for the 40 year old. A living legend, Tom Brady can play well into his mid-forties if he keeps healthy and injury free.

Aaron Rogers

Whose world is this?

It’s Aaron Rogers’s world and it is a privilege for us to exist in it. Apart from the injuries, he is the single most talented and pivot player in the NFL. This may be a controversial pick at first place, however if you have watched this quarter back spray passes and make plays before, you will understand how justified it is.
