Liverpool will be aiming to build on their impressive 2021/22
English Premier League win over Arsenal with another when they host Southampton at Anfield on Saturday.

The Reds thumped the Gunners 4-0 to remain four points off the pace. Victory put Liverpool back in the winner's circle following a 3-2 loss at West Ham United before the international break.
"So we had to show a reaction, that’s clear. The only problem that we had was that we were not together most of the time [during the international break]… the boys grew in the game today, which is very important in football – you cannot only play well if you start pretty much with three or four chances in five minutes – and then played good football," Liverpool manager, Jurgen Klopp, said in the aftermath.
"It was a mix of a very mature performance and a very exciting [performance], with very, very exciting moments: very exciting goals, great counter-press, great high-press, it was really good. And then finishing the situations off and it’s an impressive result, no doubt about that."
Southampton were unbeaten in four matches before a 2-1 loss at Norwich City over the past weekend. Defeat left the Saints in 13th spot on the league standings going into this weekend's round of fixtures.

The two teams shared the spoils over two matches last season. Southampton claimed a 1-0 win at home before a 2-0 win for Liverpool at Anfield in the reverse fixture.
