Real Betis will be eyeing a return to winning ways in the
2020-21 LaLiga season when they take on a struggling Athletic Bilbao at San Mamés on Monday evening.

Los Verdiblancos slumped to a 5-2 loss away to Barcelona before the international break to remain in seventh spot on the league standings.
Betis were in the game for the majority of the match but Aïssa Mandi's sending off opened the floodgates and head coach Manuel Pellegrini noted as much in the aftermath.
“Until the third goal, I think it was an even game," said Pellegrini. "Both teams were creating a lot but after the penalty and going a man down, we struggled to assert ourselves”
“Claudio Bravo was decisive in keeping us in the game in the first half. He made a great save on the penalty and it meant we went into half time even at 1-1. Sadly in the second half with one less player on the pitch, we weren’t able to prevent more goals”
Bilbao lost 2-1 away to Real Valladolid in their post recent encounter. The loss leaves the Basque club in 14th spot and three points above the relegation zone ahead of matchday 10 as pressure mounts on Gaizka Garitano.

The corresponding fixture last season ended in a 1-0 win for Bilbao. Inigo Martinez's seventh minute goal proved to be the difference on the day.
