Matsatsantsa missed a golden opportunity to go into second place on the log on Wednesday as they were held to a goalless stalemate by Bloemfontein Celtic, who currently occupy the spot. Kaitano Tembo’s men have notched up just two wins from their last eight matches in all competitions. The most recent meeting between the pair saw a 1-1 scoreline where Thabo Mnyamane opened the scoring for Supersport in the first-half before Bafana baStyle clawed their way back into the tie through Percy Tau who equalised in the 78
th minute.
That result saw Supersport score their first goal in the last six matches against Sundowns and also ended an eight-match losing run for Matstatsantsa against Masandawana, who have not beaten the men in yellow since a 1-0 win back in March 2013.
The corresponding fixture last season ended 2-0 to the visitors courtesy of goals from South African Internationals Hlompho Kekana and Themba Zwane either side of half time, in a fiery clash that also saw Supersport captain Dean Furman sent off.
