Final
Borussia Dortmund v Real Madrid

Kick-off is at 21h00

Marco Reus will don the famous yellow and black shirt for the last time when Borussia Dortmund face Real Madrid in the UEFA Champions League final at Wembley on Saturday, June 1.

The 34-year-old attacking midfielder is set to leave Signal Iduna Park at the end of June following 12 "wonderful" seasons at his hometown club, having reached a mutual decision not to renew his contract.

Reus was part of the team that lost 2-1 to Bayern Munich in the 2012-13 final and has appeared in all 12 matches this term to help BVB make it to the same stage of the competition 11 years later.

The former Germany international has scored four goals against Los Blancos on the European stage, including a match-winning brace as Dortmund ran out 2-0 victors in the second leg of the quarter-finals in April 2014.

Reus admits there is no better way to bring the curtain down on his BVB career and hopes a return to Wembley will result in fonder memories after Bayern ended their dream in London.

"Dortmund means everything to me. Playing for a club for 12 years, it has to mean something. You don't stay just because of the name or the money. You need to feel comfortable, have a good environment and have great team-mates," he told the official UEFA website.

"The fans play a huge role as well. Leaving means knowing you won't find the same elsewhere, so you think two or three times before making such a decision. The fans are a big part of why I stayed so long, but also because I always felt needed here - that is an important factor."

Summing up his farewell, Reus added: "Wonderful. I would say there is nothing better than playing your last game in a Champions League final and winning it. Starting with a Champions League final at Wembley in 2013 and finishing with one in 2024 for your last game: there are worse ways to end a Dortmund career."
