What Is At Stake

Stefano Pioli side will have to win games consistently in order to stand a good chance of finishing second, but Salernitana are a stubborn team.
Salernitana find themselves placed 16th on the league standings and they will be keen to move further away from the relegation zone with a win over Milan.
Team News

Salernitana duo of Federico Fazio and Troost-Ekong are out injured, but the team has no suspension concerns.
Key Players
Olivier Giroud was frustrated by the Fiorentina defence and the Milan marksman will now be determined to hit the back of the net when he faces Salernitana.
On the other hand, Boulaye Dia will carry Salernitana's hopes of defeating Milan having netted the most league goals (eight) for Granata this term.

Quotes
"We prepared the game well, but Fiorentina did better than us especially in the first half, in terms of quality and energy, as they won most of the duels," Pioli said.
"We did better in the second half and had chances to equalise, while we should've done better on the penalty, but the first half performance was not good enough.
“Fiorentina played better than us today. That is not because our minds were on Tottenham, we simply should've done better in many areas. There are many games to go this season, but this is a setback that we could've done without. It was not the same performance we saw against Atalanta last week," he added.
“We ran a lot today, but didn't run smart, we weren't solid enough to stop them developing the play from the back and that meant we were caught out of shape, especially in the first half."
Head-to-Head
Milan edged out Salernitana 2-1 in their last meeting in the league which was on 4 January 2023 at the Stadio Arechi.
Rossoneri have never lost to Granata in the Serie A since 1998 having recorded four wins and one draw.
