Manchester City v Manchester United
2020-21 Premier League, Round 27
7 March 2021
Etihad Stadium, Manchester
Kick-off: 18:30
Manchester City and Manchester United will have a derby showdown which could have major ramifications in the
Premier League title race, set for the Etihad Stadium on Sunday 7 March, kick-off at 18:30. The match is one of 10 for Round 27 of England’s top flight, spread from Saturday 6 to Monday 8 March 2021.
City have continued their brilliant form of recent weeks and look well on course to win a third title in the last four seasons, with only a complete collapse in this final quarter of the season set to cost them glory on the domestic front.
With the Citizens chasing a quadruple of trophies, manager Pep Guardiola has admitted that his team is “not fresh” due to the crammed schedule of games, but nonetheless remains proud of the winning run they put together.

“That doesn’t mean we will win titles but we have not had one week’s rest in three months. A game every three days, with the Covid situation, injury situations – to make this winning run shows mental strength,” said the Spaniard.
Man United, meanwhile, continue to look like the team which will finish as ‘best of the rest’ behind their cross-town rivals, but that won’t stop them from trying to at least put a temporary hold on City’s runaway train.
“It's [the Premier League title] not something we think about - we just think about our own performances,” said Red Devils manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. “That's the only thing we can control. We have got loads to play for, and as a team we've got loads to improve on.”
He added, “We've had loads of clean sheets against the top sides, but haven't found a goal and that's what we need to find. I've said it before, we need that one goal to open it up.”

In head-to-head stats, City and United have met in 184 matches across all competitions since 1891. The Red Devils have claimed 76 wins compared to 55 for the Citizens, while 53 games have been drawn.
When the teams met earlier this season, at Old Trafford in December 2020, they played out a goalless stalemate.
