England will take on Australia in the first ODI match which is scheduled to take place at The Oval in London on Wednesday.
The Poms are heading into this match having lost to Scotland by six runs in an ODI international series game at The Grange Club in Edinburgh on Sunday.
This was England's 999th Test match having won 357 and lost 297 (with 345 draws).
England will look to their inspirational captain Joe Root and Jonny Bairstow, who currently holds the distinction of being the only England wicket-keeper to twice claim nine dismissals in a Test match.
Meanwhile, Australia are oozing with confidence having defeated English county cricket side Middlesex by 101 runs in an ODI match at Lord's in London on Saturday.
The Baggy Greens had won the first ODI encounter between the two teams last week Thursday. Australia won by 57 runs at the County Cricket Ground in Hove.
Australia captain Tim Paine will be hoping to lead his side to victory against England, while bowler Kane Richardson will be keen to play an important role in helping the Baggy Greens win the first ODI.
The last meeting between England and Australia in an ODI match was on the 10th of June 2017.
The Poms won by 40 runs at the Edgbaston Cricket Ground in England.
