Sunday, 16 June 2024
Kick-off is at 21h00
Serbia will battle it out with England in the
UEFA Euro 2024 Group C match at the Arena AufSchalke on 16 June.
Current Form
Serbia thrashed Sweden 3-0 on 8 June and it was their second win in their last three matches across all competitions while the other game ended in a defeat.
Оrlovi will be making their debut in the UEFA Euro finals as Serbia, but they did take part in the 2000 tournament as Yugoslavia - losing their last two games after defeating Norway.
On the other hand, England succumbed to a 1-0 defeat to Iceland on 7 June as their two-match unbeaten run across all competitions came to an end.
The Three Lions saw their six-match unbeaten run in the UEFA Euro finals come to an end when they lost to Italy in the final of the 2020 edition.
Team News
England defender Luke Shaw will miss the clash against Serbia due to injury and John Stones picked up a knock during the game against Iceland.
Meanwhile, Serbia are yet to report injuries in their camp while Aleksandar Mitrovic and Sergej Milinkovic-Savic are expected to be the team's key players at UEFA Euro 2024.
Quotes
"He is, of course, a player with fabulous mentality and will have a big impact on the whole group," England manager Gareth Southgate said about Jude Bellingham ahead of their clash with Serbia.
"But the biggest thing over the last couple of games - and everyone was happy after Monday night - we've never had the collective together on the pitch at the same time.
"Maybe against Iceland it was a bit closer but there are still players we are finding out about and, for me, it really sharpens the focus of what we need to do leading into the game against Serbia."
Head-to-Head
This will be the first-ever meeting between Serbia and England.
