Carlos Sainz Jr will be banking on his home-ground advantage when he participates in the Spanish Grand Prix in his native Spain.

The Ferrari driver was unable to secure a podium spot at the most recent event on the 2024 Formula One schedule, which was the Canadian Grand Prix on 9 June.
Sainz Jr started on the 12th grid, but he was involved in a collision with Williams driver Alexander Albon which forced the duo to retire from the race.
Formula One title ambitions
The 29-year-old is placed fourth on the 2024 World Drivers' Championship standings, having accumulated 108 points from the eight races that he has competed in.
Sainz Jr is 86 points behind leader Max Verstappen as racing drivers battle to catch the Red Bull Racing driver.
Why Sainz Jr could win the 2024 Spanish Grand Prix
The former McLaren driver has secured a podium spot four times in the current season including winning the 2024 Australian Grand Prix.
Sainz Jr will be eager to display the form that saw him win the Australian Grand Prix when he competes at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya in front of his home crowd.
What did he say?
"A race to forget for the team. We knew today was going to be difficult because we have been struggling all weekend with grip and car handling," Sainz Jr said after the 2024 Canadian GP.
"The entire race was on the edge, and when I tried to push in the DRS train to overtake I made a mistake on the kerb and for that I want to say sorry to the team and to Alex (Albon).
"We have work to do ahead of Spain to understand what has happened this weekend and make sure we don’t find ourselves again in this situation in the upcoming races. We move on."
