Denver Nuggets are bidding to make history when they face Miami Heat in Game 1 of the
NBA Finals at the Ball Arena in Denver, Colorado on the morning of Friday, June 2.
The Nuggets qualified for the NBA playoffs regularly in the 1980s and the early 2000s but this is the first time they will be contesting the Larry O'Brien Trophy since joining the NBA in 1976.
Michael Malone's team claimed their first-ever title when they pulled off a four-game sweep against Los Angeles Lakers in the Western Conference Finals to book a momentous date with the Heat.

Two-time MVP Nikola Jokic has spearheaded their challenge in the playoffs, averaging 29.9 points, 13.3 rebounds and 10.3 assists with an NBA-record eight triple-doubles.
Shooting Guard Jamal Murray was outstanding against the Lakers, surpassing the 30-point mark on three occasions and scoring 37 points in both Game 2 and 3.
Miami are only the second team to reach the NBA Finals as eighth seeds but Malone has described the match-up as the "biggest challenge" yet for Denver.

"You get to the NBA Finals, it's not about seeding anymore, and for those who are thinking that this is going to be an easy series, I don't even know what to say to you people," he said.
"This is going to be the biggest challenge of our lives. This is the NBA Finals. You're trying to win the first NBA championship in franchise history, and it's going to be the hardest thing that we've ever done - which is the way it should be."
