Spain will be looking to keep their perfect record at Euro 2024 intact when they lock horns with Germany in the quarter-finals at the MHPArena on Friday, July 5.

La Furia Roja found themselves trailing for the first time in the tournament after Robin Le Normand's 18th-minute own-goal gave Georgia the lead in their round-of-16 tie on June 30.

But Luis de la Fuente's side restored parity through Rodri (39') before half-time, with second-half goals from Fabian (51'), Nico Williams (75') and Dani Olmo (83') completing the comeback win.

The three-time European Championship winners had topped Group B with a 100 per cent record after beating Croatia (3-0), Italy (1-0) and Albania (1-0).

Spain and Germany last met during the group stages of the 2022 World Cup as Niclas Fullkrug scored an 83rd-minute equaliser to cancel out Alvaro Morata's 62nd-minute opener in a 1-1 draw.

While De la Fuente admits the host nation are formidable opponents, he confidently stated that La Furia Roja are the best team at the tournament.

"We have a lot of confidence and a team with talent, quality and commitment," he said. "Being convinced of your ability is very important. I don't want to offend anyone but we have the best team at this tournament.

"Germany is a fantastic team, they have some of the best players in the world and they are very organised, very disciplined. But they will face a team that is very similar to them, very committed, very well organised, difficult to overcome, hungry with lots of ambition.

"I know it's the usual thing to say but in football it's the small details that will decide the match and what happens in the end."
