Sunday, 30 July 2023
Max Verstappen will be keen to become the fourth driver to win three successive
Belgian Grand Prix titles after Michael Schumacher, Ayrton Senna, and Jim Clark.
Most recent race
The Red Bull Racing-Honda RBPT driver is simply unstoppable at the moment having won the Hungarian Grand Prix on July 23 - making it seven successive wins this term.
Verstappen started on P2 on the grid behind Mercedes driver Lewis Hamilton and the former was able to take the lead, and went on to win an entertaining race.
Formula One title ambitions
The Belgian-Dutch racing driver remains at the top of the World Drivers' Championship standings having accumulated 281 points from 11 races as he looks to retain his world title.
Verstappen is 110 points clear of second-placed Sergio Perez as the Red Bull Racing-Honda RBPT duo compete for the 2023 Formula One world title.
Why Verstappen could win the 2023 Belgian GP
The 25-year-old will be oozing with confidence as he returns home and competes in the Belgian Grand Prix where he will be looking to make it eight wins in a row.
In-form Verstappen has won Miami Grand Prix, Monaco Grand Prix, Spanish Grand Prix, Canadian Grand Prix, Austrian Grand Prix, British Grand Prix and Hungarian Grand Prix in that order.
What did he say?
"What an unbelievable rocket ship that was today. That was so enjoyable to drive. Unbelievable," Verstappen said after he won the 2023 Hungarian Grand Prix as Red Bull made history with a record 12th victory in a row.
"We could do basically whatever we wanted with the strategy. Twelve in a row for the team is pretty incredible. I mean of course it's really enjoyable to work with the whole team and to have this kind of success.
"I think people forget how hard it is to win 12 in a row, even when you have the fastest car. Hopefully, we can keep this momentum going for a long time."
