Cameron Champ will be eager to make history by becoming the first golfer to win back-to-back 3M Open titles.
Last year, the American golfer scored a two-stroke victory at the 3M Open after hitting a gap wedge on the 72nd hole from 127 yards to within 3 feet to save par.
Champ had five birdies and no bogeys in his final round to shoot 15-under 269 while Louis Oosthuizen, Jhonattan Vegas and Charl Schwartzel tied for second.
It was the Sacramento-born star's third victory on the
PGA Tour and it remains his last win on the tour.
Champ, who is yet to participate in The Open Championship, recorded his first PGA Tour title by winning the 2018 Sanderson Farms Championship with a score of −21.
Over and above his win, the 2018 Utah Championship winner had an excellent 2018 Fall Series, finishing T10 at the Mayakoba Golf Classic and 6th at the RSM Classic.
The year 2019 saw Champ win the Safeway Open with a birdie at the 72nd hole and it was his first win in a full−strength PGA Tour tournament.

“Coming down the stretch I felt very calm, very relaxed and kind of in my zone,” Champ said after winning the 2021 3M Open.
“Obviously 18 made it a little interesting. I felt like I hit a great second shot from where that lie was, and obviously hit a great approach there into about two feet and made the putt.
“I was just putting a lot of stress on myself and doing things that I usually wouldn’t do and acting certain ways that I usually wouldn’t act on the course," he added/
"So I just had to take a step back and say, you know what, this has to stop. I’ve got to be more true to myself no matter what happens.”
