2019/20 Absa Premiership
Premier Soccer League
South Africa
August 3 - May 9
The new
Absa Premiership season gets underway on August 3 when the defending champions Mamelodi Sundowns face their Tshwane rivals SuperSport United.
Sundowns and other big guns such as Orlando Pirates, Kaizer Chiefs and Bidvest Wits will battle it out once again over 30 games with silverware firmly in their sights.
Inspirational captain Hlompho Kekana will be looking to lead Sundowns to a record-extending 10th PSL title having already won four trophies with the club.
However, the Tshwane giants will once again face stiff competition from Pirates, who narrowly lost the title to Sundowns on the last day of the 2018/19 season.
