Venezuelan Jose Uzcategui will put his IBF World Super Middleweight Title on the line when he faces undefeated challenger Caleb Plant at the Microsoft Theatre in Los Angeles on Sunday, 13 January 2019.
Uzcategui claimed the belt with a ninth round TKO victory over Andre Dirrell in their rematch in March. The 28-year-old lost the first fight by disqualification in 2017.
In his last match Uzcategui scored a unanimous decision over Ezequiel Osvaldo Maderna in September 2018. However, it was not a title match, making this his first defence of the Super Middleweight crown.
Plant is a top-ranked and undefeated challenger, with a professional record of 17-0-0 since his first bout in May 2014.
The 26-year-old moved into position to challenge for the title with an impressive unanimous decision victory over tough veteran Rogelio Medina in February 2018.
The Nashville-born fighter was the 2011 Golden Gloves winner in the Light Heavyweight division and was an alternate for the 2012 Summer Olympics.
