Patrick Cantlay will redeem himself by winning the
2024 American Express having previously finished second in the tournament.

The American star had a successful amateur career and was the number-one golfer in the World Amateur Golf Ranking for 55 weeks.
Cantlay has won eight times on the PGA Tour as well as the 2021 FedEx Cup and he is a member of the 2022 class of the UCLA Athletics Hall of Fame.

Cantlay took a mini-break after competing in the 2024 Sentry Tournament of Champions in Kapalua, Hawaii, USA where he finished 12th.
The Carlifonia-born golfer is currently placed sixth on the Official World Golf Rankings (OWGR) and his best overall ranking is third place.

Cantlay is back in his home state of California and at the American Express having finished second in the 2021 edition as he was edged out by a single stroke by Kim Si-woo.

“At least a little disappointing,” Cantlay said when asked to assess his year (2023) on the Golf website.
“Because I felt like I had multiple opportunities to win. And I didn’t win at all. And that’s always the goal.”
“The good news is I played a lot of really good golf, and the wins are a function of putting yourself in that position. So I fully expect, if I put myself in that position as many times next year, I could win multiple times.”
