Scottie Scheffler will be the favourite to win the
Farmers Insurance Open title when he tees off at the Torrey Pines Golf Course.
The American star remains second on the Official World Golf Rankings as he looks to topple Rory McIlory from the top of the standings.
Scheffler is yet to win in the current 2022-23 season and came close to clinching the World Wide Technology Championship at Mayakoba where he finished third last November.

The year 2022 was Scheffler's best as a professional golfer as he won the WM Phoenix Open, Arnold Palmer Invitational, WGC-Dell Technologies Match Play and Masters Tournament.
In September 2022, the New Jersey-born golfer was named 2022 PGA Tour Player of the Year, earning the Jack Nicklaus Award for the first time.
Furthermore, Scheffler set a season-long record with $14,046,910 in earnings, 126 players made more than $1 million in the PGA Tour’s 2021-22 season.
The former University of Texas student, who is a four-time winner on the PGA Tour, will be looking to add his fifth win by clinching the Farmers Insurance Open trophy.

Scheffler revealed that he worked on fine-tuning things in the offseason when asked about his putting at this year's Sentry Tournament of Champions earlier this month.
“I’m always kind of fine-tuning things, and I would say it seems to be working," Scheffler said.
"Just trying to get comfortable with what I’m doing and a new year and stuff like that. So I’m off to a solid start and hoping to continue it the next couple of days.”
Tiger Woods is the most decorated golfer in the history of the Farmers Insurance Open with seven titles.
