Real Madrid will be looking to extend their lead at the top of the
La Liga table when they take on Elche at the Santiago Bernabeu on January 23.
Los Blancos are unbeaten against Los Franjiverdes in their previous six league meetings, having recorded five victories and one draw.
The club from Alicante held their more prestigious opponents to a 1-1 draw during the 2020/21 season.
Vinicius Junior has enjoyed a productive campaign with Real, contributing 12 goals and four assists in 20 top-flight appearances.
It has been suggested that the Madrid outfit are over-reliant on the Brazilian forward, but head coach Carlo Ancelotti was quick to point out that other players in the team have also made an impact this term.

"I don't think Real Madrid have Vinicius-dependency," Ancelotti told the press. "We have a player who had a great first half of the season.
"He has helped us to win games many times, as [Karim] Benzema, [Eder] Militao or others have done, so to speak about dependency on one player at Real Madrid seems too much for me."

Elche's 1-0 win over Villarreal on January 16 marked a special milestone for goalkeeper Edgar Badia, who made his 100th appearance for the club and kept a clean sheet to boot.
