Utah Jazz v Oklahoma City Thunder

Tip-off at 04:30

Oklahoma City Thunder will be determined to bounce back from their first defeat in eight games when they face Utah Jazz at the Delta Center on the morning of Saturday, February 22.

The Thunder are enjoying another superb season and they're on course to win back-to-back Northwest Division titles after losing just 10 of their opening 54 games.

Mark Daigneault's team have the joint-best record in the NBA alongside Eastern Conference leading-Cleveland Cavaliers (44-10) which sees them boast an eight-game swing over Memphis Grizzlies at the top of the standings in the West.

But Minnesota Timberwolves brought an end to Oklahoma City's seven-game winning streak as they ran out 116-101 victors on February 14.

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander also saw his sequence of 22 25-point games snapped after he scored 24 against the Timberwolves and shot just 2 for 13 in the first half.

"We just got off to a poor start and then did a nice job in the second quarter of getting ourselves back into position to give ourselves a chance, and then cut into it in the third and really gave ourselves a chance," Daigneault said.

"But they just outplayed us for way too much of the night tonight to come out here with a win - we shot more free throws, they shot 27 per cent from three... they just kind of out-worked us."

The Jazz are destined for a third consecutive season without the playoffs as they sit second from bottom in the West with the third-worst record in the NBA (13-41).

Will Hardy's team have only managed back-to-back wins on two occasions and they've lost seven of their last 10 games.

Utah surrendered a 57-52 half-time lead to lose 120-116 in overtime against LA Clippers on February 14, with Kyle Filipowski scoring a career-high 20 points and Lauri Markkanen also adding 20.

"I'm proud of this group," Hardy said. "The way they're fighting every night. We're playing a lot of different line-ups all the time, and they're sticking together and really competing.

"So, they deserve a lot of credit. They get some much-deserved rest for the upcoming week, take care of their bodies, clear their heads a little bit, and we'll get back to work."
