2023/24 English Premier League
Matchday 23
Manchester United v West Ham United
Old Trafford
Manchester, England
Sunday, 4 February 2024
Kick-off is at 16h00
Manchester United will be determined to snap a two-match losing streak to West Ham when they lock horns at Old Trafford on Sunday, February 4.
The Hammers ran out 2-0 victors in the reverse fixture at the London Stadium on December 23, having also beaten the Red Devils 1-0 in the capital at the back-end of the 2022-23 season.
United had won their previous five league encounters and are looking to turn the tables on the East Londoners in a bid to get their campaign back on track.
Erik ten Hag's side, who face Wolves at Molineux on February 1, kicked off the New Year with a 2-2 draw against Tottenham on January 14 which saw them pick up just five points from their last five games.
The Reds sit ninth in the standings on 32 points, one ahead of Chelsea (10th) and three adrift of West Ham (6th) ahead of their clash with Bournemouth on February 1.
Newcastle leapfrogged the Blues, United and Brighton (8th) into seventh position after they beat Aston Villa 3-1 at Villa Park on January 30 to close within three points of David Moyes' side.
Ten Hag is convinced that his team will start producing their best performances again once everyone has returned to full fitness following a spate on injuries during the first half of the season.
"I think we are quite confident because on our best days, we can beat anyone. But on our worst days, we go down to certain limits of what is not acceptable, so we have to push our limits to higher levels," the Dutchman said.
"So that, on our worst days, we still get our results in. Then we know that, at our best, we can beat anyone and everyone in the squad is very convinced about this.
"Also, they know that, with players coming back and returning from injury, from long-term injuries, the team will be stronger and also that helps the motivation and it helps the mood and the spirit in the team."

Moyes is hoping that new loan signing Kalvin Phillips will be a success at the London Stadium after failing to establish himself in Pep Guardiola's plans at Manchester City.
"Kalvin's pedigree over the years has made me feel that he is a player I'd like to have at the club," the Scot said. "For five or six years he has been a mainstay of the England national team and I think he's someone who is a really good player.
"His move to Manchester City probably hasn't worked as well as he would have liked. I hope we can give him an opportunity to show what he can do. This time a couple of years ago we brought in Jesse Lingard and he really helped us. I hope Kalvin can have a similar impact."
