2022/23 Italian Serie A
Matchday 22
SSC Napoli v US Cremonese
Stadio Diego Armando Maradona
Napoli, Italy
Sunday, 12 February 2023
Kick-off is at 21h45
SSC Napoli will face off with US Cremonese in an
Italian Serie A match at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona on February 12.
Current Form
The Little Donkey proved too strong for Spezia Calcio as they won 3-0 away on February 5 to extend their unbeaten record to five matches in the league.
Napoli are also enjoying a 13-match unbeaten run at home having recorded two draws and 11 wins at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona.
While Cremonese succumbed to a 2-0 defeat to US Lecce at home on February 4 - extending their winless run to 28 matches in Serie A.
The Tigers are also winless in their last 14 matches on the road having registered five draws and nine defeats as the visitors.
What Is At Stake
Napoli's bid to win the Serie A title is on track as they are sitting at the top of the league standings - 13 points clear of second-placed Inter Milan.
Luciano Spalletti's side will widen the gap at the top if they defeat Cremonese and Inter drop points against UC Sampdoria on February 13.
Meanwhile, Cremonese are placed 20th on the league standings and a win over Napoli would ease their relegation fears.
Team News
The Little Donkeys have no injury concerns, but their reliable South Korean centre back Min-jae Kim will be suspended for one match if he is booked against Cremonese.
On the other hand, the Cremonese quartet of Christian Acella, Cristian Buonaiuto, Giacomo Quagliata and Luka Lochoshvili are all injured.
Key Players
In Victor Osimhen, Napoli have one of the hottest strikers in world football having scored 16 goals in the Serie A and he will be looking to add to his tally against the Tigers.
The Nigerian hitman will be up against his compatriot David Okereke who is Cremonese's top scorer with five goals and he will be keen to find the back of the net against Little Donkeys.

Quotes
“The difference in these games, at this time and in these stadiums, is made by the mentality of the players," Spalletti said after their win over Spezia.
"You have to start preparing from the night before, as there’s no time to get ready in the morning,”
“Spezia had great tactical balance, they pressed us hard in midfield and then when they did sit back, the spaces were reduced to the minimum.”
Head-to-Head
Napoli hammered Cremonese 4-1 in their last meeting in the league which was on 9 October 2022 at the Stadio Giovanni Zini.
The win extended the Little Donkeys' unbeaten run against the Tigers to four matches in the Serie A having recorded two wins and two draws.
