Sevilla FC will square off with Elche CF in a Spanish La Liga match at the Estadio Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán on February 11.

"I can't explain how the three points got away from us. We knew they were going to squeeze us in the second half and we dropped too far back. We conceded a lot. When you concede so much, you end up paying for it. We have to be smarter in those situations. It's not the first time it's happened to us

"We recovered from all the adversity and we leave a difficult field sad because we deserved to win. We had Lucas [Ocampos]' injury, Gonzalo [Montiel]'s injury and Jules [Kounde] wasn't ready to play from the start.
 
"We tried to recover and build with different pieces and we attacked. The second half performance was very good, we did not give away chances and we created a lot of chances. It couldn't be, it's time to keep working."

Meanwhile, Elche proved too strong for Deportivo Alaves as they emerged 3-1 winners at home in their last league game which was played on February 5.
 
The Green Striped Ones are now undefeated in their last five matches in this competition having recorded two draws and three wins.
 
Elche are also unbeaten in their last two matches on the road in La Liga having recorded one draw and one win as the visitors. 
 
The last league meeting between Sevilla and Elche was on 28 August 2021.

The two teams played to a 1-1 draw in a match which was played at the Estadio Manuel Martínez Valero which is a name that pays tribute to the late president of Elche, Manuel Martínez Valero.
