Everton and West Ham United will kick-off the new year when they meet in a
2020-21 English Premier League match on Friday evening.

The Toffees head into back-to-back home games against Manchester City and West Ham after defeating Sheffield United 1-0 on the road. Victory secured a fourth straight win for the Merseyside club as they moved up to second spot on the league standings.
"We're second for the spirit of this team, the motivation and ambition the players have for this season," Everton manager Carlo Ancelotti told the club's official website.
"We're not the top team but we are a solid team. This, in my opinion, is a really good quality for a team.
"The ambition and target is the same for the season: to reach a position in Europe."
West Ham go into away games against Southampton and Everton following a 2-2 draw at home to Brighton & Hove Albion. The result stretched the Hammers' winless run in the league to three matches.

Everton took four points off West Ham last season. The Toffees registered a 2-0 win at home before a 1-1 draw at London Stadium in a match in which Issa Diop and Dominic Calvert-Lewin found the back of the net for either side.
