Swallows FC will lock horns with Maritzburg United in a
DStv Premiership match at the Dobsonville Stadium on Saturday.
Kick-off is at 3:30 pm
Amaswaiswai's struggles in the league continued when they extended their winless run to 11 matches following their 3-1 defeat to Kaizer Chiefs at home last weekend.
The defeat left the Soweto giants on the 16th spot on the league standings with eight points from 12 games and the club has since fired coach Brandon Truter and replaced him with Dylan Kerr.
Kerr, who has coached Baroka FC and Black Leopards, is looking forward to facing Maritzburg's veteran coach Ernst Middendorp.
"It will be a tough match against Maritzburg United. I have a lot of respect for coach Ernst Middendorp. He has been here [in South Africa] longer than me," Kerr said.
"His players play for him, but I am going to concentrate more on my team and less on the opponent. My games against coach Ernst have always been close.
"So yeah it will be difficult."
Meanwhile, Maritzburg are now winless in their last five matches in the DStv Premiership having fought back to hold AmaZulu FC to a 1-1 draw at home last weekend.
Therefore, the Team of Choice are placed 11th on the league standings - five points above the relegation zone and four points behind eighth-placed AmaZulu.
Middendorp stressed the importance of the point they gained from their clash with AmaZulu and he revealed how his side can improve.
"In the circumstances that we are currently in and the resources we have, Zukile Kewuti is suspended and Nazeer Allie not available," Middendorp said.
"Some players are not functioning well. This point is a win for us. That is how I see it. We have to keep the distance between us and the bottom two places.
"We have to pick up points as much as possible then during the mid-season break we need to form an understanding, I want to see better passing from the players.
