Bakgaga lifted their first-ever piece of silverware courtesy of their penalty shootout success over the Buccaneers which capped off a fine tournament which saw their fairytale run include victories over the likes of Mamelodi Sundowns, Bidvest Wits and finally Pirates in successive rounds.
They followed that up with a 0-0 draw against Downs in their midweek encounter, a result which leaves the Limpopo based outfit languishing in the relegation zone, just one place and one point above the bottom-team, Black Leopards.

The Clever Boys have seemingly put their disappointing 2017/18 campaign, as defending ABSA Premiership champions, well and truly behind them as they seek to challenge for a second top-flight title. Seven wins from their first 13 league encounters sees Gavin Hunt’s chargers occupying second place, just three points adrift of Orlando Pirates who themselves do not face any domestic duties until next year.
They head into this fixture off the back of a thrilling 2-2 draw with Golden Arrows knowing that a win for Wits who have played two matches fewer than the current leaders would see them end 2018 at the summit of South African football.
