Table toppers Manchester City travel to London to take on Chelsea in Saturday’s late-kick in the English Premier League as both sides look to build on good recent form and positive midweek results in the UEFA Champions League.

Two places and three points separate Manchester City in 1st and Chelsea in 3rd, the teams that account for four of the last six Premier League Champions in England with Chelsea being the current holders looking to defend their crown. While a win this weekend is unlikely to propel Chelsea to the top of the table at this early stage, a position that last season they managed to hang to for the rest of the campaign after taking an early advantage, it will certainly reignite their title push in 2017/18 and halt a rampant Pep Guardiola and his City side in their tracks.
Antonio Conte’s side came away unscathed from their trip to Atletico Madrid in midweek where it looked for large periods of the game as if they would ultimately be frustrated by the Spanish opponents until substitute Michy Batshuayi stepped up to slot home the winner in stoppage time. This coming in the same week they demolished Nottingham Forest 5-1 in the Carabao Cup before beating Stoke City by the same margin when Alvaro Morata netted a hat-trick in a 4-0 win last weekend.

Their 2-0 victory over Shakhtar Donetsk on Wednesday was comfortable if not as convincing as some of their free-flowing displays of previous weeks which included 5-0 victories over Liverpool and Crystal Palace respectively in the Premier League.
