The Blades return home following back-to-back games in Manchester where Chris Wilder's men beat Manchester United 2-1 before suffering a narrow 1-0 loss to league leaders Manchester City at Etihad Stadium, this past weekend.
Sheffield remain rooted to the bottom of the league standings on eight points from 21 matches (13 points from safety) but Wilder will take confidence from his side's performances in Manceshter.
"We’re alive and have a desire to compete. You’ve seen a team that’s fighting for their lives and can cause teams problems," Wilder said.
West Brom head into the fixture in 19th spot and on the back of a 2-2 draw at home to fellow relegation rivals Fulham. The Baggies looked on course for their first home win under Sam Allardyce only to be denied by a late Ivan Cavaleiro equaliser.
"We should have won it," Allardyce told reporters following the match.
"When you go out and dominate for the first 25 to 30 minutes of the second half, and get 2-1 up, that should be the end of it. But then our defensive frailties let us down again.
"We cannot expect to score three goals every time to win a game, and it is a huge disappointment not to see it out when we were 2-1 up."

A first-half goal from Conor Gallagher led West Brom to a 1-0 win over Sheffield at the Hawthorns earlier this season. That win remains West Brom's only home victory of the campaign.
