2024/25 English Premier League
Matchday 3
Arsenal v Brighton & Hove Albion
Emirates Stadium
London, England
Saturday, 31 August 2024
Kick-off is at 13h30

Brighton will attempt to put an early dent in Arsenal's Premier League title challenge when they clash at the Emirates Stadium on Saturday, August 31 in the lunchtime kick-off.

The Gunners are one of four teams still with a perfect record after two matches following their 2-0 victory over Aston Villa at Villa Park on August 24.

Mikel Arteta's side sit third in the standings on goals scored behind the Seagulls and league leaders Manchester City, although they have yet to concede after two rounds.

Albion proved to be a thorn in Manchester United's side once more as they secured a last-gasp 2-1 win at the Amex on August 24 and Fabian Hurzeler will be hoping to continue his fine start at the helm in North London.

Their recent record against Arsenal isn't great though, having lost both home (3-0) and away (2-0) in the league last season which made it three defeats in four encounters.

Hurzeler believes the result against United will give the players belief that they can compete against the big clubs while continuing to improve as the campaign progresses.

"It's always difficult. What I want is that we show the attitude of never giving up in every game and that we try to win it, try to be the best prepared team, try to get the momentum, try to outwork the opponents," the German said.

"And of course these wins build a good connection. But I know the football business is like just daily business, so you have to win the next game, make the next step, try to improve. That's my passion, so I think it was a good start and now we should continue this process."

Arteta felt that the victory at the fortress that is Villa Park shows that his team are capable of getting the desired result anywhere in the country.

"We found a way to win, especially because the team, I think, played with a lot of personality and understood the game better and better as the game was going, apart from those 10, 12 minutes in the second half," the Spaniard said.

"And when we had to rely on certain individuals, we did, like the situation of David [Raya], that is an unbelievable save. And when we made the changes, the impact that they had, it was tremendous for the team.

"So when a team now starts to be equipped that way, and they start to be able to navigate through different context in a match, then becomes a team that can win in any place, and today we've shown that."
