It will be master versus apprentice when Manchester City and Arsenal meet in the
FA Community Shield at Wembley Stadium on August 6.
Master vs Apprentice
Mikel Arteta and Pep Guardiola go way back, having played together briefly at FC Barcelona between 1999 and 2001 as central midfielders.
Arteta was tipped to be the next Guardiola in the Barca first team until he parted ways with the Spanish football heavyweights in 2002.
The duo reunited at Manchester City in 2016 with Arteta joining the Citizens as Guardiola's assistant until he took charge of Arsenal in 2019.

Head-to-Head
This will be the 11th meeting between Arteta and Guardiola since the former took charge of Arsenal - his first managerial job.
City have the upper hand with Guardiola having masterminded an impressive nine victories compared to Arteta-coached Arsenal's one victory.
The Citizens have scored 24 goals against Arsenal who have netted just six goals in this fixture.

"From my point of view, I have huge respect as a person, as a manager. That’s not going to change. “If we’re going to fight on the touchline – it’s going to happen sooner or later I guess – it won’t change the respect.
"I teach him a few things but this comes from himself, his mum and dad, his character and that was already there. Mikel, I know him and I had the feeling during the time we worked together that what he is doing is not fake," he added.
“So when we were making a training session and in a game, he was always complaining about referees, and that was as an assistant coach. It is what it is. After that I am not a judge; everyone is everyone and sometimes I behave as well in this way.”
