The
Brooklyn Nets will look to take down the challenge offered by the visiting Charlotte Hornets when the teams meet at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York on the morning of Saturday 17 April 2021. Tip-off is at 01:30 CAT.
The Nets continue to occupy a high spot in the Eastern Conference table, though they had their confidence knocked with a surprise 126-101 loss to an injury-riddled LA Lakers this past weekend – a game which also saw Kyrie Irving have his first career ejection.
Nets coach Steve Nash hopes his side can learn from the spirit shown by the short-handed champions: "A team missing a bunch of guys and guys get an opportunity and their eyes light up and they come out and play harder than us, play more physical than us. And it's a great lesson for us.”

The Hornets, meanwhile, have enjoyed a more than respectable season to date and look on course to secure a place in the Playoffs if they can keep up the form they have shown through 2020-21. This past weekend they claimed a major scalp by defeating the Milwaukee Bucks 127-119, though their opponents were missing all five of their regular starters.

“I'm proud of our guys, that they've put us in this position to be where we're at," Hornets coach James Borrego said, though he added that they cannot afford to take their eye off the ball in what remains of the Regular Season. "I love that and I'm proud of them. But we can't be complacent. We haven't done anything. We haven't accomplished anything yet."
