The 2020 Vienna Open is set to take place at the Wiener Stadthalle in Vienna, Austria, from 26 October until 1 November 2020.
 
It is the 46th edition of the professional tennis tournament which is played on indoor hard courts.
 
The competition is part of the ATP World Tour 500 series of the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) World Tour.

It is currently sponsored by Erste Bank and hence it is called the Erste Bank Open.
 
The current singles' title-holder is the 2019 champion, Dominic Thiem, who is an Austrian tennis star. 
 
Big names such as Novak Djokovic, Daniil Medvedev, Stefanos Tsitsipas and Matteo Berrettini have already committed to this year's tournament.

Medvedev and Tsitsipas will play in Vienna for the first time, while Kevin Anderson, who won this competition in 2018, will also be present.
 
Last year's men's doubles' titles were won by British player Joe Salisbury and American star Rajeev Ram.

They defeated Polish player Łukasz Kubot and Brazilian star Marcelo Meloa 6–4, 6–7(7–5), [10–5] in an entertaining final.
 
Salisbury and Ram, who won the 2020 Australian Open doubles' titles, are set to defend their Vienna Open titles this year.

Having also won the Vienna Open in 2018 with his compatriot Neal Skupski, Salisbury discussed their form as a team heading into this year's tournament. 
 
"We didn't play at all together until we got to New York a few weeks ago," Salisbury said. 
 
"It's not too much of a big deal. We've been playing together for over a year and a half now so it didn't take too long to get back into things once we got back on court together."
