Japan beat Samoa 26-5 at the 2015 World Cup, but will be aiming to go a step further than they did four years ago when they also defeated South Africa, only to bow out in the pool stages.
World champions New Zealand return to action with a clash against Canada in Oita and having named a strong line-up, the All Blacks will be expected to make light work of a team they beat 79-15 in their most recent encounter eight years ago.
