The
2023/24 UEFA Champions League group stage action will start on 19 September with eight matches taking place across Europe.
Headliner
An encounter between one of the title contenders, Paris Saint Germain, and 1996/97 Champions League winners Borussia Dortmund will headline the action.
The two teams will meet at Parc des Princes in Paris in what will be their third meeting in the Champions League with each team having recorded a win in their previous meetings.
Dortmund emerged as 2-1 winners in the Round of 16 first-leg clash in Germany, but PSG won the tie 3-2 on aggregate after securing a 2-0 win in the second-leg match during the 2019/20 season.
Title defence
Meanwhile, Manchester City will start their defence of the Champions League title with a match against Serbian champions Red Star Belgrade at Etihad Stadium in Manchester.
This will be the first-ever meeting between the two sides in the Champions League and City are expected to secure a comfortable victory over the 1990/91 European champions.
City are hoping to become the first team to win back-to-back titles since Real Madrid clinched three successive trophies between 2016 and 2018.
European royalty
While European giants AC Milan and FC Barcelona will both be at home when they take on Newcastle United and Royal Antwerp respectively.
Milan are welcome Newcastle United at Stadio Giuseppe Meazza as the latter make their return to the Champions League group stage for the first time since the 2002/03 season.
Barcelona, on the other hand, will face off with Belgian champions Royal Antwerp at their temporary home, Estadi Olímpic Lluís Companys in Catalonia.
Barca will be targeting a winning start to their group-stage campaign as they take on Antwerp for the first time in the Champions League.
