The eagerly anticipated 2017 Players Championship is set to take place between 11-14 May at TPC Sawgrass in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida, United States of America (U.S.A).

Australian golfer Jason Day is the defending champion - having won last year's tournament by four strokes ahead of American Kevin Chappell. Day, who is also a former World No.1, will face stiff competition from the likes of Dustin Johnson, Jordan Spieth, Rory McIlroy and Hideki Matsuyama.

World No.1 Johnson has been grouped with McIlroy and Justin Thomas. Rickie Fowler, who won the 2015 Players Championship, is in the same group as Day and Henrik Stenson. The reigning Masters champion Sergio Garcia is pitted against Adam Scott and Matt Kuchar. While Spieth, Matsuyama and Phil Mickelson are in the same group. Rio 2016 Olympic Games champion Justin Rose is pitted against Jon Rahm and Martin Kaymer.
