Milan v Udinese

2020-21 Serie A, Round 25

3 March 2021
San Siro, Milan
Kick-off: 21:45

AC Milan and Udinese will be geared for a midweek battle in Serie A when they meet at the San Siro Stadium in Milan on Wednesday 3 March 2021, kick-off at 21:45. The match is one of 10 for Round 25 of Italy’s top flight, spread over the midweek of 2-4 March 2021.

Milan come into the game on the back of a 2-1 win away to Roma on Sunday night, a key result as they bounced back from defeat in their previous game to Internazionale and remained four points adrift of their arch rivals at the top of the log. Franck Kessie and Ante Rebic netted for the Rossoneri.

“I told the team that two negative games cannot make us lose the confidence we built together for over a year,” said manager Stefano Pioli. “We hoped to do better over the last two weeks, but the fact we didn’t should just give us more motivation.

“Our first half was extraordinary, we could’ve scored more goals. It was a game with a high tempo and intensity, the kind we like to play. “It was up against a very strong Roma side, so conceding a goal can happen, but the lads deserve praise.”

Udinese, meanwhile, pushed themselves further clear of relegation danger with a 1-0 home victory over Fiorentina on Sunday, with Ilija Nestorovski scoring a later winner for the team in black and white.

"The victory arrived in an emergency. We had many absentees and little options on the bench," manager Luca Gotti explained. "I want to thank two players who took to the field in precarious physical conditions, but I won't say who they are. The game reflected this mentality. We did not want to give anything to a strong Fiorentina.”
