The 2022 Charles Schwab Challenge is set to be played at the Colonial Country Club in Fort Worth, Texas, the USA between 26 and 29 May.
The tournament was originally known as the Colonial National Invitation and it has been sponsored by American multinational financial services company Charles Schwab Corporation since 2019.
It is one of five invitational tournaments on the PGA Tour; the inaugural event was held 76 years ago in 1946.
The other four tournaments with invitational status are the Genesis Open, Arnold Palmer Invitational, the RBC Heritage, and the Memorial Tournament.

Jason Kokrak is the defending champion having won the Charles Schwab Challenge trophy last year after defeating Jordan Spieth by two strokes.
This year's tournament field is headlined by the likes of Kokrak, Justin Thomas, Collin Morikawa, Max Homa, Patrick Reed, Scottie Scheffler Bryson DeChambeau as well as Gary Woodland.
There will be 120 players on the field and the event is set to be played out over four days, with this event marking the 32nd tournament of the 2021-22 PGA Tour schedule.
Former Winners of the Charles Schwab Challenge, Daniel Berger, Zach Johnson, Chris Kirk, Kevin Kisner, Kevin Na, Justin Ros and Rory Sabbatini will also tee off at the Colonial Country Club.
“It’s exciting. We’re starting to get the players to come in and put in their requests for exemptions as well as commitments to the tournament," Jim Whitten, the new Chairman for the Charles Schwab Challenge, said ahead of the 2022 event.
"It’s starting to happen, and everything is starting to grow around here. This is an unbelievable canvas and we don’t want to rush getting it done. We’re keeping the same charm as it is.
"We’re not adding a par-5. It’s going to be the same thing, but it’s going to be new and improved. I think the fans, as well as the membership here, is going to really be pleased when it’s all done.”
Ben Hogan is the most successful golfer in the history of the Charles Schwab Challenge having won the tournament a record five times.
