Suzuki Ecstar's Joan Mir will be looking to finish on the podium for the first time in the Qatar
Grand Prix when the 2022 MotoGP World Championship season starts on Sunday, March 6.
The Spaniard, who won his maiden MotoGP title in 2020, endured a difficult campaign last year and failed to record any victories.

However, Mir still managed to finish third in the driver's standings thanks to six podium finishes, including coming second in the Styrian Grand Prix and Algarve Grand Prix.
In his previous two races at the Losail International Circuit, the 24-year-old finished eighth in 2019 and fourth in 2021.

The 2020 European Grand Prix remains Mir's only victory to date and he's looking to improve on that front in a bid to challenge for a second championship crown.
"I don't just want a MotoGP title and I want to do it in a different way. I want to win more races," he declared.
"Maybe I won my title because of intelligence and not because of the speed I had. I was one of the best, but not the best. So I want to win in a good way."
