The Boston Celtics will look to tame the Memphis Grizzlies when the teams meet in an NBA Regular Season game at the TD Garden in Boston, Massachusetts on the morning of Friday 4 March 2022. Tip-off is at 02:30.
The Celtics are looking good to qualify for the Playoffs, though their inability to consistently keep pace with the likes of the Miami Heat, Chicago Bulls, Philadelphia 76ers and Milwaukee Bucks will be a major frustration to their fans.

Nonetheless, they showed good form through February and will be hoping March is just as productive. “We’ve just been playing better overall, clicking better as a unit,” Jayson Tatum said. “We just had to be ready from the jump.”
Boston coach Ime Udoka added, “I love the resolve of what we’re doing.”
The Grizzlies, meanwhile, have been the surprise package of the Western Conference. While not quite at the level of the Phoenix Suns and Golden State Warriors, Memphis have nonetheless put themselves in position to finish in the upper echelons of the log and enter the Playoffs as one of the dark horses.

One of the key attacking weapons for the Grizzlies is Ja Morant, who has become renowned as one of the best free-throw finishers in the NBA this season. He recently made 21 of 25 from the line, a franchise record, in a loss to the Portland Trail Blazers.
Portland player Jusuf Nurkic was amazed at the number. “I don’t know the last time I remember playing somebody that shoots 25 free throws,” Nurkic said, adding “I don’t remember Dame (Damian Lillard) shooting 25 free throws. … I wasn’t happy about it. It was amazing. At some point, he had more free throws than our whole team.”
In head-to-head stats, the Celtics and the Grizzlies have met in 50 Regular Season games since 1995-96, with Boston claiming 31 wins compared to 19 for Memphis. The teams’ last Regular Season meeting was in March 2021, with the Grizzlies winning 132-126 at home after overtime thanks to 29 points from Ja Morant.
