Italian star Jasmine Paolini will battle it out with Croatia's Donna Vekic in the semi-finals of the
2024 Wimbledon on 11 July.
Previous round
With a 6-2, 6-1 victory over USA's Emma Navarro on 9 July, Paolini eased into the semi-finals of the grand slam tournament and built on her great year.
Vekic, on the other hand, had to dig deep to secure a win in her quarter-final match as she overcame New Zealander Lulu Sun 5-7, 6-4, 6-1 on 9 July.
Wimbledon record
Paolini has never won Wimbledon, but this has been her best performance in this competition having reached the singles semi-finals for the first time.
The 28-year-old has won two singles and three doubles titles on the WTA Tour, including a WTA 1000 singles title at the 2024 Dubai Tennis Championships.
While Vekic is also enjoying her best performance in this competition having reached the singles semi-finals for the first time.
The Osijek-born athlete has won four singles titles on the WTA Tour namely, Malaysian Open, Nottingham Open, Courmayeur Ladies Open, and Monterrey Open.

“In the semi-finals, you have to play tough opponents. She’s playing amazing,” Paolini said about Vekic.
“I hope to enjoy the next match to give my 100 per cent and I’m going to fight on every ball. I’m just so grateful to play here another time.”
Head-to-Head record
This will be the fourth meeting between Paolini and Vekic in a professional tournament.
Paolini has the edge in this rivalry having won two matches compared to Vekic's one victory.
Their last meeting ended in a 7-6(3), 6-2 victory in favour of Paolini in a WTA 1000 Montreal round one match in August 2023.
