Granada started the 2021/22 season with a credible 0-0 draw at Villarreal, but have now gone six game's without a win in Spain's top-flight stretching back to last season.
Valencia got their campaign up and running with a 1-0 win over Getafe at the Mestalla. A solitary goal from Carlos Soler, who came up big for
Los murciélagos' so many times last season, guided them to all three points.
"Today we saw a high level of commitment and effort. It is clear that we have to improve," said Valencia manager Jose Bordalas in the aftermath.
"The season has just started and we haven't achieved anything yet. It is not easy to make a radical change in such a short time. Today you cannot criticise any player, because everyone gave everything."

Last season both teams claimed 2-1 home wins, while Granada's home fixture produced no fewer than three red cards!
